Welcome to the Hillside Retreat! This 4 bedroom / 3 bathroom home can sleep up to 11 and is the perfect location for wine tasting, visiting the beach, or just hanging out with friends and family. We are kid and dog friendly and located a few minutes from the 101 freeway, so it's a great launching pad for anywhere in Central California!
Welcome to our beautifully renovated two-story home in Atascadero, nestled on a quiet street in a charming small town. The two story home sits on the side of a hill and has updated furniture and design as of 2026. Step into the cozy living room with a flat-screen TV, creating the perfect space to unwind. The dining area seats up to 8 guests, with additional seating in the kitchen at the table and two barstools. This home features four comfortable bedrooms and three bathrooms, ideal for families and groups. The sliding door opens to a scenic outdoor deck, complete with a lounge area for relaxation and a giant Connect Four game for added fun. Book your stay and experience the perfect blend of tranquility and entertainment at our charming home!
PLEASE NOTE: Since the home is on the side of a hill, there are 12-14 steps to get to the front door. Unfortunately, the property is not ADA friendly and if it would be difficult for someone in your group to access the front door, we kindly ask that you look for another home that is more flat.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS:
1. Downstairs King Bedroom. There is a full bathroom right next to this bedroom.
2. Upstairs Queen Bedroom. Bedrooms 2&3 share a jack and hill bathroom in between the two rooms.

4. Upstairs Kids Room with a full over full bunk bed with a twin trundle. This room has an en suite bathroom.
GUEST AMENITIES:
Each bathroom includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and lotion for our guests to enjoy.
KITCHEN:
We have all your basic cooking needs, including utensils, plates, and bowls for adults and children. There is also a toaster, microwave and a Keurig machine with some K cups. Please note that while we do provide all your basic cooking needs, the kitchen is on the smaller side.
OUTDOOR:
There is an outdoor deck behind the dining table with outdoor seating and a giant connect four game.
CHILDREN SAFETY:
Please ensure children are carefully watched at all times, especially in the backyard, which is sloped. We are not responsible for any injuries or accidents during your stay.
OTHER:
Central CA occasionally has PG&E power outages. These outages typically last only 1-2 hours. We will provide you with the same updates we get from PG&E. We appreciate your understanding if this happens during your stay.
We have two exterior cameras to ensure the property is safe at all times. One is by the parking area and the other one is by the large deck.
Our home is in a residential neighborhood and also has a country feel. You will often see deer roaming the streets and lizards in the front and back yard. Occasionally, the lizards may enter the home when the doors are open. The lizards are harmless and you can scoop them up with a cup and put them outside. In addition, a pest control company services our home every other month, but it is natural for some insects to make it into the home when the doors are open. We appreciate your understanding of this.
The guests will have access to the entire house.
Please note that we share the bottom part of our driveway with our neighbor. Our house is the grey one on the LEFT side.
PETS:
We welcome up to two house-trained dogs for an additional $150 per dog. We appreciate you keeping an eye on your dogs and kindly ask that they do not jump on the beds and furniture. Dogs should be crated inside the home when the owners are out. Damage to the property will incur additional charges.
SERVICE & EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMALS:
Service Animal and Emotional Support Animals MUST be disclosed, in writing, prior to booking. The pet fee is waived only for legitimate service or emotional support animals that remain with their owner at all times. If there is evidence that the animal was left alone, the pet fee will be applied.
Please be aware that in California, falsely claiming a pet as a service animal is a criminal misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and/or up to six months in jail.
RENTAL AGREEMENT & CHECK IN PROCESS
Guests are required to sign a short-term rental agreement prior to check-in. The agreement outlines house rules, liability, and property use. We also ask guests to provide an ID and CC upon booking. These additional security measures had to be implemented to prevent fraudulent bookings. A link with all of this information will be provided upon booking. If you are not comfortable with any of this information, you are welcome to cancel within 24 hours of booking as long as it's not a same day booking.
Extra Guest Policy: We allow up to 2 additional overnight guests for $50/night per person. Important: We only provide beds and linens for up to 11 guests. Any additional guests beyond this number will need to bring their own bedding/sleeping arrangements.

The area and neighborhood was great and the host responded immediately. But the quality of all the furniture in the place was bad. The dining table, chairs, couch were all rickety. The rods in the bathroom kept falling off. The kitchen was stocked with very very basic stuff. For a place that accommodates large crowds, the number of cutlery, mugs, plates, bowls were all less. Don’t think we’re coming back here.

The patio was lovely (though it was a bit too hot to spend too much time out there). Location was perfect, close to the cute shops in downtown Atascadero. Plus there is a cool beer garden and ice cream shop 2 minutes away. Close to Morro Bay and Avila Bay, we spent time at both beaches since it was so hot. House was very clean and had lots of towels and pillows. We had a lovely time and were very comfortable. Thanks for a wonderful long weekend!

The place looked just like the photos. Well kept and clean! Good rental property with decent furniture. Jane was very responsive and understanding. The smoke alarm did go off a couple of times when we were cooking. One thing to note is that there are no sidewalks and not much area to walk your dogs. My family and I enjoyed our stay here. It's in a really quiet neighborhood. Great location. We saw deer here almost every day. My 2 year old daughter enjoyed seeing them very much. We had to communicate with Jane a couple of times while we were there and she was very responsive and immediately took care of any items that we needed.

This house was in a nice location. But the downstairs seating area was small and it wasn’t very comfortable. Wish she had a comfortable coach or loungers. The kitchen was small, but we still were able to make a Thanksgiving dinner for our families. She had everything we needed to cook also which was nice. This house is great for one family or a short stay. It was just tight downstairs for 9 people.

The home is as beautiful and clean as it is in the pictures. Jane is quick to respond and very kind in our interactions! It accommodated our family of 4 adults and 3 children perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed the coffee machine and loved having a kitchen. The location is great! The only complaint we have is that the bunk bed is squeaky but thankfully our kids are heavy sleepers, plus they absolutely loved having a bunk bed so it wasn’t much of an issue. Would highly recommend!

We found this gem on very short notice and feel very lucky to find this home. It was plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 teens. It’s rural but very close to freeway access. Rural means it’s also very quiet without cars racing back and forth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate returning. As an aside, we were visiting my daughter at Cal Poly. It’s only a 15-20 minute drive to campus. She actually stayed with us instead of her dorm.

If you’re looking to get away in the Paso Robles area, this is the perfect spot! It’s a very close drive to the wineries, Tin City, and beach towns. Atascadero also has a cute, small downtown area you can easily go grab food, charge your car, or walk around. On top of all of that, this is the most clean Airbnb house I’ve ever stayed at! Its newly remodeled and is exactly as described in the listing. The decor, amenities, family friendly accommodations, and host communication were all so great, our group would definitely stay here again. Thank you to our host, Jane, for making our first road trip mini getaway with our baby a success!

We had a lovely getaway at this airbnb. The house is spotless and beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches like bathroom and kitchen supplies. My kids loved the bunkbed room and were occupied for hours by the new toys and books. The location is nicely central which made it easy for us to day trip to Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo.
