Once upon a time in the tall pines of Twain Harte.. The Gingerbread House is a reimagined 1,658 sq ft cabin blending knotty-pine charm with modern comfort. Sleeps 10 across 3 bedrooms + a loft kids will adore. Gas fireplace, full kitchen, game room with pool/ping-pong.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire cabin, deck, patio, and 0.51-acre grounds, including the gazebo-covered hot tub, sauna, fire pit, game room, hammocks and EV charger.

Twain Harte Lake Access (seasonal): As members of the Twain Harte Lake Association, we're able to extend lake access to our guests during the season (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend). The lake is a private, member-and-guest swimming area with a sandy beach, diving rock, rafts, and a snack shack.

A few important details:

• Registration is required in advance. We must register each guest (by name) with the Lake Association before your visit — so we'll ask for the full names of everyone in your party, including children (kids under 2 are free but still must be registered).

• Entry fee: $10 per person, per day, paid at the gatehouse. Provide the property address at the Gatehouse for admission.

• Capacity: The lake has a capacity limit, and access can be restricted on busy weekends and holidays. We recommend arriving early.

• We provide 4 beach chairs, a sun umbrella, and pool noodles you're welcome to bring down to the lake.

Full Lake Rules are provided in the house guide and must be followed — see the House Rules section below for the key ones.

• LAKE SEASON: Lake access is only available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Outside those dates the lake is closed to everyone.

• MOUNTAIN SETTING: This is a wooded cabin at elevation. Expect uneven natural terrain, pine needles, and local wildlife. While the grounds are mostly level, the front door is 7 steps up from the driveway (3 steps from the back deck), so the home is not step-free.

• HOT TUB & SAUNA: Please review the quick-start guides in the home (QR Codes). Use at your own risk and always supervise children.

• FIRE PIT AND GRILL: Gas-powered; instructions provided. Never leave open flames unattended, and follow any local fire restrictions in effect.

• WINTER SEASON: Twain Harte gets snow. Sierra Drive is county-plowed; the driveway and walkways are cleared as needed. Carry chains in winter conditions.

• PETS: No dogs or other animals are permitted at Twain Harte Lake at any time.

• SECURITY: For the security of the property, ring cameras are located on the front deck and backyard. The cameras are for exterior security monitoring only and do not record interior spaces. Guests are advised that the outdoor entertaining area includes a hot tub with privacy curtains and a sauna with frosted glass.

• EV CHARGER: Available to guests on an overnight charging schedule.

RENTAL AGREEMENT & CHECK IN PROCESS

Guests are required to sign a short-term rental agreement prior to check-in. The agreement outlines house rules, liability, and property use. We also ask guests to provide an ID and CC upon booking. These additional security measures had to be implemented to prevent fraudulent bookings. A link with all of this information will be provided upon booking. If you are not comfortable with any of this information, you are welcome to cancel within 24 hours of booking as long as it's not a same day booking.

PLEASE NOTE:

All electronic accessories and system connections are clearly labeled not to be removed or tampered with. These items are provided for guest use only during your stay and must remain in the home at all times; any missing, damaged, or removed electronic equipment or connections will incur a $100 replacement fee, which may be charged through the booking platform.

Extra Guest Policy: We allow up to 2 additional overnight guests for $50/night per person.

Important: We only provide beds and linens for up to 10 guests. Any additional guests beyond this number will need to bring their own bedding/sleeping arrangements.
